I’m 16 and am about to start volunteering at the humane society. My parents (dad in particular) **** cats, and I’ve always wanted one. So I figured that I’d bring an older cat home (outside cat). I’d buy food of course (:

What are the prices of puppies/dogs in the humane society?

I have decided to adopt a dog or puppy (most likely a puppy though) from the humane society. But. I was just curious if anyone could tell me roughly how much they would charge me to get a puppy or dog at the humane society. I live in Windsor, ON. I tried going to the site, but they don’t have prices or anything on there. So can someone please help? Thank you~

How much does the Humane Society pay its workers?

I’d love a job working with animals, and i figured the Humane Society would be a good place to start. If I didnt need the money, i’d work for free, but since I do need it, I was wondering if anyone knew about how much they pay the workers there. Maybe someone who works at one can answer this question for me.

I have 2 dogs, I love them so much but they refuse to go to the bathroom outside, they *** and **** everywhere, they tear out trash too. I don’t want to take them to the Humane Society but my boyfriend doesn’t want them anymore. They are messing up the apartment and making it spell bad. I don’t want him to drop them off in the middle of nowhere, like his original plan. So, does it cost anything to take them to the humane society?

What does the Humane Society expect of potential adoptors?

I’ve heard the Humane Society is snotty regarding placements of animals. For example, I’ve heard that they won’t give dogs to people who plan to have them be “outside” dogs. Is this true? What other sort of rules do they have concerning placement?
Thanks to those of you who haven’t assumed that I’m unfit to own a pet. I also didn’t say myself that the HS is snotty- I’m simply trying to get a more rounded idea of what the HS expects of its adoptive owners to see if we make a good fit.
