Singapore, an island nation in South-East Asia has a population of 4 million made up of Chinese, Malay and Indians of whom have various religions like Buddhism, Christianity and Islam.

Yet there is no racial riots or tension between the different groups. So is Singapore a good example of a successful multiracial and multireligious society?

The spate of civil unrest in Guinea and its environs is a demon that cannot be captured so vividly on black and white. It is too appalling to behold or unheard of that women were publicly ***** while some are carried away for military men mass ****. My dear reader the list is endless and indeed inexhaustible.

Let me once more delve into the civil society unrest so paramount in the Guinea today before corroborating it with election. It is said of recent that it is only the man with solution that can be in the position to bring about a change in the system. The dwindling state of affairs in the country in question ranging from bad governance, dictatorship, poverty, oppression and civil unrest is a resultant effect of the above saying. When the man in power is wrong or in a dictating form, every other thing will align to the same form.

Once upon a time, in December 2008 when the city of Guineans enters the state of deadlock following the assumption and enthronement of an officer of military face and colour. The man appeared to be Captain Moussa Dadis Camara as the President of the said state. My story goes through September 2007 and 2009 another level of chaos was witnessed by the State. Thus pushing this great country into a state of perfidy. Subsequently, all these atrocities are committed without recourse to the United Nations Basic Principles on the Use of Force and Firearms by Law Enforcement officials in dispersing protesters in any country.

It is now being reported that one hundred and one of organizations condemned the mishandling of protesters in the city of Guinea. But all things being equal, Albert Einstein have once quoted and I paraphrase him as saying that evil triumph because good men do nothing to forestall evil. Let the Guineans, French and both the regional and international civil society not appear to be only talking tall without an equivalent action for eradicating evil.

Now it is being suggested and recommended as urging the two presidential candidates to walk the path of peace and enthronement of democratic values and norms into the fabric and garments of the Guineans. I think it is high time and in ongoing presidential election for the contenders and the masses especially the military to see this as birth of democracy in the country. While the past starting from the December 2008 event to date as the gestation period of democracy into their dear country. The reason being that it is only the man who have the solution must be in the position to rule. Look out for a closer article to this in my subsequent posts.

India is a vast sub-continent in South Asia, with a population of over a billion people. It has a democratic system of government, and one of the fastest growing economies in the world today. India is known for its scenic beauty, vast natural reserves and rich cultural heritage.

Indian society has always been patriarchal, with male dominance conspicuous in every aspect of social life; a society where even today the majority of women find their identity linked to that of their father or husband, undermining their ability to exist in their own right. For centuries, the birth of a daughter brought distress and dismay, as everyone suffered from a ’son-fixation’, wanting a son to carry on the family name. Women were deprived of the right to be educated, were confined within the four walls of the house, to take care of the home and the children, subjected hence, to a life of silent endurance and subservience to the men in the family. Till the beginning of the twentieth century, a woman who lost her husband also lost the right to lead a decent, normal life, and was condemned to a life of deprivation, solitude and misery, as an outcast of society with no right to remarry. Violence was common and a number of women were targets of abuse after bouts of drunkenness, but women could not dare to retaliate, instead were supposed to silently endure this cruelty, attributing their plight to the Hindu concept of “kismet”, that is, destiny or fate. Religion, always a strong guiding force, also did little to improve the plight of women.

The advent of the twentieth century brought a gradual change in the status of women, as comparatively more women began to receive formal education, some even seeking employment outside. A large number of women came to the forefront of the freedom struggle that led India towards independence from British colonial rule in august 1947. The Constitution of India, framed thereafter, provided equality to women in every respect and though the percentage of educated and gainfully employed women kept increasing steadily especially in the urban areas, the basic status of women remained below that of men. Education did help create an awareness to fight against discrimination in every field, be it health care,, nutrition or employment; to report against violence and abuse, to assert their rights and demand respect and decency, so that they are no longer victims of the male display of power, authority and control. But a vast majority of women, especially in rural India, remain unaware of their rights and need to be guided and organized, to fight the inequality they have been forced to accept and live with throughout their lives.

All humans are born equal, but their socialization largely determines their ideas and beliefs. In Indian society, the concept of male superiority is so deeply entrenched that it is passed on unconsciously, and lays the foundation for inequality. It is unfortunate that women themselves perpetuate this inequality in the generation that succeeds them. It is therefore, essential to shed age-old customs, traditions, religious beliefs and cultural mores; and instead, highlight women’s contribution to society and focus on the importance of role sharing by men.

Poverty, a curse, haunts our society, and its eradication is crucial for the elevation of the status of women, particularly those with special disabilities. Strategies evolved for its eradication must empower women more than ever before. This can be accomplished by giving women better access to, and control over small business ideas, better training and skill developing facilities so that they can develop these ideas into successful businesses.

History bears witness to the fact that whenever women have been empowered; they have changed the course of events for the better. Developmental programs have been far more successful when women have been given the responsibility of their implementation. Economic empowerment of women, wherever it has been initiated has changed the structure of society and reduced the ills that haunt it, besides improving the quality of life of the whole family. On the other hand, programs to introduce family planning failed in the initial years simply because women were not empowered.

The contrast between then and now, has heightened and today’s woman is no longer merely man’s shadow. While pockets of Indian society still treat women unfairly as much as they did in the past, today, these women can walk out or reach out for help and scores of non-governmental organizations would come to their rescue. Atrocities against women have not stopped, nor have women in general achieved equal status. We can only console ourselves with having a woman president of our country, and see women in places of power command respect. The common woman huddled in a corner, or slogging in homes and offices may just marginally be better off than before.

Sure, you have heard about secret societies and you often associate this with ancient religion and cults. You can even associate this to conspiracy theories and spies. However, you do not understand many things about secret societies. In fact there various kinds of secret societies, most of which are perfectly hidden you never thought it existed.

You may not believe it but there is a secret society about *** and the members are mostly women. In this group, the women take care of their own sexual needs, the needs of other members, and the needs of the new male members.

The society works by making a woman appear wholesome thus enabling her to look for the perfect partner without the sexual part. She is able to do this because while holding off sexually with her partner, she is sleeping with the male members of the secret society. Therefore, her sexual needs are still satiated.

The truth about the secret society is often misunderstood and here are some examples:

In the secret society, they do not believe that a woman has to be ***** in order to have ***. Instead, *** takes place when a woman is sexually receptive and women can be receptive when they begin to feel intense emotions.

The members also understand that women are hardly logical. Women are ruled by their emotions and you need to tap into these emotions in order to be able to interact with her sexually.

In the society, the each member is aware that logic and the lack of trust keep a woman from interacting sexually. Logically, for a woman, *** is not a big deal. Moreover, if she does not trust the person she is partnered with then *** is unlikely.

For the members to be able to interact sexually, logic has to be deactivated by making her feel strong emotions while establishing trust at the same time. Once this happens, then sexual activity can commence.

Americans celebrate Father’s Day every year in June. This day, the same as Mother’s Day, is a day to celebrate and remember our fathers or father-figures in our lives. Unfortunately, a lot of children have grown up without a father present in the home, leaving single mothers to raise their children alone. Some mothers became the father, because the father chose to abandon his responsibility as a father. And some may have been pushed away by the mother, due to difficulties in the relationship. There are many reasons why and some truths are not easy to swallow, but we know that Satan’s role is to dissolve the family, by purposefully splitting it apart. He knows that if the father isn’t present, the mother’s role in raising her children will be very difficult- financially, emotionally and physically. The absence of the father may result in his daughter looking for love and acceptance from men who will only use and abuse them. The absence of the father may also result in his son being angry and abusive towards women who seek to love them. As our society continues to become more and more dangerous, evil and love-less, a father’s role today is more desirable than ever.

A father’s role in the family is very important. His job is to provide for his family, by working, disciplining and nurturing them. It is a sin for the man of the household to become lazy, by not working. For Ecclesiastes 3:13 says; “That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil – this is the gift of God.” And Psalm 90:17 also says; “May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us – yes, establish the work of our hands.” When the father works, he also teaches his children the importance of working and living a deceit life. God said if we don’t work we shouldn’t eat. And by showing his children how to be a disciplined worker, his children should grow up doing the same.

Disciplining children is an important role of a father. His job is to teach and instruct them in the ways of God. By teaching and showing them how God wants them to live, he will surely raise God-fearing, respectful children. Proverbs 13:1 says; “A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke.” And Proverbs 22:6 says; “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” If the father doesn’t train his children correctly, they will lead unhappy and dangerous lives. And Satan will become their teacher. Sons may find it in the streets, by joining gangs and others will do bad things to land them in jail. They may even die as a result because they didn’t receive the loving discipline that they were seeking. They chose to disrespect and take from others that they didn’t care about. Daughters may end up giving their bodies away at an early age and having children out of wed-lock. Or seeking to find love and acceptance from “father figures” that are found in the world and on the Internet. But as long as his children receive the love and discipline that God requires, then the world won’t entice his children away. For Ephesians 6:4 says; “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

A father’s nurturing love is the most important role that he has. Children are born seeking love and acceptance from their parents. Because the father is the head of the household, they look to him as the primary caretaker. Usually the mother is responsible for primarily nurturing their children, but the father’s role as a loving caretaker, should resemble the same example God has for us. In Genesis 22:1-14, God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. God was testing Abraham to see how much he loved God as well as his son. Right before Abraham was about to sacrifice his son, an angel of the Lord told him to stop. He knew that Abraham loved God so much that he would be willing to sacrifice his son for God. Because Abraham was obedient, God blessed him and his descendants forever. This scripture gives us a perfect example of a father’s love to God, and his son. Even though we may not understand why Abraham would sacrifice his son, his faith in God and love for his son prevailed. Psalm 103:13-14 says; “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.” There are many fathers who are present in their children’s lives and God is pleased. Even though they are not perfect, they know that they have a very important role to play in their children’s lives. From providing, to disciplining and taking care of them, these traits can give the children of today more of a blessed future. God the Father gave his only son Jesus. And he died so that we may live forever. He gave the ultimate Father-Son sacrifice. If today’s fathers would only strive to be like Jesus everyday, then our children will be saved and live a prosperous life. If they are raised respecting God and their parents, then it wouldn’t matter what today’s society tells them. For Matthew 4:17 says; “And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Amen.

While the Vatican talks about washing machines as being the major force leading to the liberation of woman, yet millions of women in Eastern and Asian countries live from day to day without any freedom. They are seen as little more than chattels belonging to their husbands and are kept totally under male domination. This includes countries such as:

o Afghanistan,
o Saudi Arabia,
o India,
o Egypt,
o Indonesia,
o Paskistan,
o China,
o Malaysia,
o The Moslem countries of the Middle East,
o Many African nations and
o Even tropical islands such as Vanuatu.

Millions of women live being denied access to education, consigned to the house, all freedom of expression strictly curtailed, dress codes rigidly enforced, the liberty to speak freely with men not allowed and a general disapproval of women being found in any position of authority.

However, it is only a few years ago that girls were not encouraged to obtain higher education, even in Western society. After all girls were only going to mess around and maybe work for a few years, before getting married and staying at home to look after the family. Why waste a university education on them?

What then has brought about the change to where women in the Western world feel they have been given their freedom? Is it really the washing machine, as the Vatican recently declared, that made the difference?

Equal opportunity for women has freed many women, allowing them to take a major role in Western society. This was brought about through:

o Germaine Greer and ‘the burn the bra’ movement
o The pill and the availability of safe abortions
o Anti discrimination laws both in the work place and in education
o Child minding and day care facilities, backed by the government, have allowed mums to continue as working-mums
o The anonymity and world-wide reach of the Internet and Cyber Space has been another major contributing factor. Women can now work from home, but if they choose, then can be sexless and nameless.

Maybe though, it is time to admit the pendulum may have swung too far, with many antifeminist activists claiming the feminist movement now seeks a higher status for women than for men. Serious traditional intellectuals such as Allan Graglia and Carlson Carolyn believe that the change of women’s role, from being primarily mothers, to self-identified professionals, has created a social disaster that continues to take its toll on the family.

Many now believe there is an anti-male discrimination in the areas of child custody, reproductive rights, alimony and property division, in messy divorce settlements. Antifeminists are quick to point to the marked increase in divorce and the breakdown of family relationships as having been formed by the influence of the feminist movement.

Still there are feminists who say, “I would rather cook a meal for a man and bring him his slippers and feel myself in the protection of his arms than have all the citations and awards and honors I have received worldwide, including the Ribbon of Legion of Honor and my property and my bank accounts. They mean nothing to me. And I am only one among the millions of sad women like myself.”

Other women are quick to promote the business woman, women as leader models, as well encouraging women into competitive environments, in spite of the fact that women sometimes receive ‘preferential treatment’ in the form of being permitted lower physical requirements in some professions, such as military and rescue services.

In the finish, it will be neither the male domination, nor the feminist, nor anti feminist movements, that will make a difference to families in the years ahead, but the legalization of same *** marriages. The world is in a fervent of change for both men and women.

How would “society” look if everyone was immortal (and could not be mortal again = no death), had all of the knowledge of everything that ever was, all of the wealth that they could possibly imagine, and had discovered everything that there was to discover? I think that is a living death. What do you all think?

The Roman Army has long been seen as a fascinating and possibly the worlds most well-known military force. Its advanced fighting tactics for the time coupled with superior leadership, armor, and weapons created an army that was able to dominate much of the known world. For the Roman citizens and subjects, the army formed an integral part of the lives and hearts of the people. Government labels such as republic and empire accurate as they may be, do not entirely describe the heart and sole of the Romans. In essence, they remained a military state throughout the life of the empire.

From the early republic to the late empire, the Roman army directly influenced society and balance of power within the empire and out. In this paper, I will discuss in detail why the Roman army was so powerful on and off the battle field and also how it affected the lives and society of the Roman Empire. The Army in the Roman Republic

Since the Early Roman Republic, the army was becoming a major part of the lives of the people. Wars and battles were fought just about every year, and it was common to have rituals to signify the beginning and end of the campaigns for the year. During the time of the republic, the army was solely a citizen army, and all citizens were liable for service (provided they were financially able to own some land) within the considered military age of seventeen to forty-six. Every year a selection process took place called dilectus. All men of military age were required to visit the capitol of Rome for possible recruitment. Citizens with property valued at over 400 Denariia silver coin which was the principle form of payment in the Roman times were liable for service.

When enrolled in military service, the men were required to serve a maximum of sixteen years, but often were only expected to serve six years with a callable period for the remaining ten years. Some went into service only one year at a time, and then would attend the selection process every year until their six years were up. It was not uncommon that all youths who were eligible for military service served in a campaign for a few years during their lives.

I know of the reference to **** Germany, but **** Germany also designed the Volkswagen, and I don’t here anyone calling to ban the Volkswagen.
There is also the slippery slope reference and comparison to **** Germany which is invalid, because the US has a functioning democracy and civil society including disability rights organizations, so the comparison is invalid.
There is also the argument of individual rights which is invalid, because social rights always come before the individual.
We don’t even have to force people to get sterilized, the government could pay them. You sensitive types may be offended by this, but consider the alternative, a world full of people with genetic disorders, because natural selection no longer removes them from our gene pool.
We should pay them to get sterilized, yes we should!
