What is Into the Streets?

Mission Statement:

            “The continuing goal of Into the Streets is to strengthen students’ capacity to help solve the problems we face as a society.  This goal will only be accomplished in partnership with many diverse individuals and institutions through sustained and persistent action.”

• Into the Streets is a national volunteer program that is designed to introduce more people to thoughtful community service and to provide a learning experience that will challenge them to volunteer on a regular basis.  This program is held at least once a month which seeks out the needs in the community.  The volunteers are flexible and are willing to serve wherever and whenever they are needed.  Please check for opportunities on a regularly to help out!

As a result of Into the Streets we:

• Hope that others will see the need for service and the rewards of community service.
• Hope to strengthen relationships with service organizations.
• Hope that students will take on leadership roles in the service movement.
