A Woman’s Dual Role by Society’s Norms
Women are suppose to be great nurtures as mothers and yet, we somehow expect them to be **** and alluring figures as well. In today’s modern society, we have women which have broken all the glass ceilings and are leading major companies, countries, and paving the way for all women. These women are independent strong, and all of the above. One has to wonder if we are asking far too much from women today.
It’s almost as if we want them to straddle this impossible fence of hypocrisy, while society continues to complicate the issues, meanwhile the debate rages on. Many women have grown tired of all this, who can blame them? Perhaps, society needs to take a deep breath and step back, and allow each woman to live their own lives on their terms? What is with all this duality and what we expect of today’s woman?
Well, indeed, and that fine line is in the eyes of others, and if one choices to live their lives for the whole of society and accept such nonsense, in order to be “accepted” then that is up to them. However, in doing so these women trap themselves to a life of pleasing the mass mob, which only rewards them when they comply, and as long as they don’t step on anyone else’s toes.
Groucho Marx said it best; “why would I wish to join a group that would have me as a member?” If you choose to join and acquiesce, you have to give up self for the privilege, but if a group requires giving up self for membership, only someone who is naive would give up very much. Maybe it’s time we rethink the stigmas of what society “thinks” is appropriate for women, and allow each woman the freedom and liberty to choose her own destiny. Please consider all this.
