What do you think is the percentage of the population, a society,etc that desires to live dangerously?

..Or is this attitude confined only to First world nations and the higher echelons of society? Does a certain culture, religion or philosophy play a part?
Any real benefits to the common, hard-working citizen who tries to save and live a decent life?
