Why should society be more tolerant and accepting of the *** community?
This is my topic for oratory, and I am pro-acceptance.
I want to focus on how tolerance isn’t enough, and I want to use historical and current events that will help get my point across.

What is a good structure I can follow for this oratory?
Are there any articles you can suggest that I can use in my research?

I for one think that there shouldn’t have been any intolerance or inacceptance in the first place. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being gay, and any sensible human being would realize that.
But, we don’t exaclty live in a world full of “sensible” people, now do we?

Tolerance is a virtue everyone should have for their fellow man, regardless of their sexuality or hair color, or the size of their feet. Ones sexuality is only a small portion of who the person is in actuality and to judge one by their sexuality means you are only looking at a small percentage of the person and not at the entire human being. A person can not control their sexual preference just like one can not control their preference of hand to write with, it is innate. You are born that way and do not possess control over it to change.
Everyone has something or does something on which they can be judged, though no one should, and we all live on this planet. The only way to do it harmoniously and peacefully is to have tolerance and compassion for our fellow man.
Good luck on your oratory

Check out the website for the UUA.org (Unitarian Universalist Association) – I know that they have run articles on exactly this premise before and their magazine The World might be on their website in back issues. I would also see if there are any *** rights organization websites that would be helpful. I’m sorry I don’t know any myself. I think this is a great subject for oratory. I know that this was not an issue back in the Golden Age of Greece, when most of the most famous people such as Aristotle and Plato were alive. In fact Thespia, the famous woman Greek writer who gave her name to the field of stage acting, was definitely and unapologetically ***.

Society should be more tolerant because the *** community is not going anywhere… we aren’t in the past anymore, people need to accept other people and get on with life…

I think a better question would be “why shouldnt it be”.
The right to freedom of expression and the persuit of happiness are fundamental human rights, as is equality.
