Well just about all primanistic societies have an affinity to a warrior mentality. Whether you are talking about the Ancient Romans or moder day society, we have always had a need to idolize our warriors/athletes and the competitions that they face. In mamranistic societies this mentality seems to be replaced by having certain groups in power instead rather than individual heroes the idealizations seems to shift to groups instead.
