How long does it take for Society finches to decide they want to nest?
My zebra finches and society finches breed constantly and I was wondering how long it will take for them to realize it’s time to build a nest and lay eggs? I’ve supplied them with a few nests in each cage so that they have a choice with location, and there is nesting material in the bottom of their cages. They’re seperated; not in the same cage. 1 pair to a cage.

it doesn’t take long at all they are very active breeders and love to breed and build thier nest I have an avairy cage and have 19 birds in there both society and zebra finch pairs and I have fake trees in there and shredded cotton balls and they love setting up the bedding in their nest everytime I turn around there’s more eggs and babies lol…..don’t provide too much nesting material because they will use it all up and cover their eggs once they start laying them…..p.s. I have 13 babies in four different nest right now so once they start they don’t stop, make sure you have a big enough space for when the babies do come.
