How do you make yourself more acceptable to society?

6
I have always been an outcast to society. How can I fit in? I **** it how all my friends are weirdos too – the nerds, overweight women, homosexuals, ex-criminals. How can I get more socially acceptable friends? Why don’t I fit in with the rest of society?

On a personal, individual level, everyone feels like an outcast. But we don’t always see that because people do well to hide it. And when most have tried to hide it, they have ended up losing themselves to the crowd. I think that’s how society works nowadays. It’s all a big lie and facade. Is that how you want to live your life?

I have always been an outcast. And while I have had my moments of lament, straying to the crowd, finding myself alone again, I’ve resolved that life is simply better not caring what everyone else thinks of me, whether or not they accept me. I have personally reserved those cares for God.

And as far as I know, society’s not exactly the best example of how I want to live my life. How about you? Ask yourself what is important, and whether society can provide that for you?

Best wishes and God bless

People like those you mention can be perfectly decent, depending on their personalities. If you insist on only associating with “socially acceptable” people, you’ll have to dress very conservatively, speak politely and respectfully, be able to make interesting conversation, and have impeccable table manners. Get hold of a good etiquette book (I recommend anything by “Miss Manners”) and study it.

Meanwhile, you can become a good friend to the “weirdos”, and appreciate them for their better qualities. It will be good practice for the time in the future when you’ve developed the confidence to mix with any kind of people.

Learn to talk to people (honestly listening more than talking) and dont judge. You’ll have tons of friends.
