Religion inserts fear, really? Seems to me that much of the laws and ideals provided by the Bible were established long before much of the "fear" the world has enabled came to past. You're putting the cart before the horse in many cases... God told mankind thousands of years ago to use wisdom, common sense and logic on instances and circumstances a very long time ago. So why would you think mankind is not equipped without tools to deal with situations in their lives? Our Forefathers used these principles to begin our once , New Nation. And they did a much better job than we're doing now.

But I'm sure someone has already found a way to blame religion and God on the turmoil of America already.....And yet we know much of it was because of man's hunger and greed for money, power and self from the start...That sounds very much like the opposite of what my God teaches in my opinion.....

Your thoughts?

fear of the unknown is not "irrational"
consider the rational fear of fire...like a fire in a theatre, or in a soccer stadium?

People die. fire hurts...and people willingly hurt other people in order to avoid the pain and potential death.

When that happens your country will become fascist or a theocracy or both.
Iran is a good example. So are most of the countries in the Middle East. It happens in Christian countries too if the citizens let it.

Lets face it the News Media dishes out "Fear" on a regular basis. It is not happy unless they have a concentrated effort of getting people to tear out their hair and get them calling the station for their moral support.
However the only place I look for comfort is from my Savior Jesus Christ.
It would seem your attitude is to discredit once again that we Christians listen to our God over the fear mongers of the News Media, and newspaper reporters is some bone of contention to you.

Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.

If we do not keep our eyes on the Lord, we will be fearful. We being Christians.

Society has nothing to keep their eyes on so fear takes them over.

In a variety of ways. First, look at the public school system, anti-evolution disclaimers on the cover of Biology books?
Second, my President (former) has been quoted as saying that he does not believe I should be considered a citizen. (blood boiling)
Third, Religions prevent human rights and this is evident everywhere... Women's, Gay's, Minority's etc.

"In general, higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion in the prosperous democracies." — From 'Cross-National Correlations of Quantifiable Societal Health with Popular Religiosity and Secularism in the Prosperous Democracies' a study published in the (peer-reviewed) Journal of Society and Religion, 2008

You're assuming it's irrational...
LOL

Those of us with God in our lives don't live in fear.
